Who really knows? In any case there’s only one in the bush. And it’s easy to pull out of the bush and into the ‘chuck when you’re ready….

A Visit to the Gumboot Nation
Earth day is a good day to visit the Gumboot Nation in the heart of Roberts Creek.
The Gumboot Restaurant is a good a centre point as any. These Magnolias (they are magnolias aren’t they?) are out and are ready to announce spring.
Across from the Gumboot is, of course, the library. This is no Tennessee porch, but these guys sound great.
Down the street from the library and almost on the beach is the main stage. Things are rockin’.
The beach is fantastic. Some of the homes are quite comfy – a little beyond the earthy feeling the Gumboot Nation evokes.

Love that Isthmus
Sechelt is situated on a narrow neck of land, an isthmus, separating the Salish Sea from Sechelt Inlet.
There are some nice trails in Hidden Groves Park. The high point is Pine Bluff which affords a little obscured but still dramatic view down the inlet, across the isthmus and across the Salish Sea (Georgia Strait) to Vancouver Island (on a clear day).
When does “the” season actually begin?
The season’s are ongoing in Secret Cove. There’s really not a day all year round when it’s not a good day to be on or around the water, or out on a trail.
You know we’re getting closer to “boating season” when dock daffodils are out.
Here’s something more definitive. An actual date for fuel, and a pretty decent selection of wine.
Meanwhile the dock stays pretty quiet. Maybe I should grab a parking spot while it’s available.
