Here’s my inspiration for an “infinity pool”. Today was a gorgeous day for a hike up Pender Hill with views down to Hotel Lake.
Pender Hill is also a great hike with boat access. Tie up at Irvines Landing. A 20 minute waterfront stroll along Lee Road brings you to the trail Head. Another 20 minutes to the summit and you have fantastic views of Pender Harbour, down the Malaspina and across to Texada and Vancouver Islands.
A great way to kick off the new year. We now have craft beer on the coast. Persephone Brewing.
They’re not all that great for jam ( but maybe someone will find a use for them in some kind of avant garde artisanal gin).
But, the bright red berries do have a stark beauty telling us it’s late fall. This tree has more berries than most. It has lots of sun and a great view of Welcome Passage.
What a gorgeous day on the water. The only other boat out was Search and Rescue, out for a training run (I think)….
We’re well into September but having fabulous summer weather. Stayed at Thormanby Beach ’til the sun went down!
Where did those heads on Easter Island come from? Here, on a trail near Secret Cove we found what could be one of them emerging from the rock. Here in the cove the guy still has hair.
Sidewalk replacement is a different kind of undertaking here in the Cove.
So what if it’s a rainy day. A great day for a hike into the Skookumchuck Narrows. For the guys surfing the tidal flow, what difference does it make if they’re in the rain. They’re getting wet anyway.
The hike into Skookumchuck is about an hour on a pretty decent trail. Driving in with your kayak on top might be a mistake.
